Prof. Chen holds a Masters in Physics from National Tsing Hua University (2002), PhD in Physics from the University of Florida (2008) and postdoctoral positions at the University of New South Wales (2011), Max Planck Institute (2015) and ETH Zürich (2017). His field of research is condensed matter theory, mainly in spintronics, topological insulators, strongly correlated systems, magnetism and superconductivity.
