Possui mestrado em Física pela National Tsing Hua University(2002), doutorado em Física pela University of Florida(2008)e pós-doutorado em University of New South Wales(2011), Max Planck Institute(2015) e ETH Zürich (2017). Seu campo de pesquisa é a teoria da matéria condensada, principalmente em spintronics, isoladores topológicos, sistemas fortemente correlacionados, magnetismo e supercondutividade.
