Prof. Carla has graduated in Chemistry at PUC-Rio (1991). She has obtained her Master’s Degree in Physics, also at PUC-Rio (1994), in the area of Particle Physics. She made her PhD at the Centro Brasileiro de Pesquisas Fisicas (CBPF, Rio), which included a 6 months stay working for the FOCUS Experiment, at Fermilab (Illinois, USA). Her PhD Thesis (1999) was dedicated to the study of charmed mesons, from both experimental (using data from E791 Experiment) and phenomenological sides. From 1998 to 2002 she was Adjoint Professor at the Engineering Faculty of Universidad de la Republica, Montevideo (Uruguay). Since 2003 she is Assistant Professor at the Dept. of Physics, PUC-Rio. She works in Experimental High Energy Physics, in particular Charm decays and Charge-Parity (CP) violation in B meson decays. She is a member of the international collaborations FOCUS (Fermilab, USA) and LHCb (CERN, Switzerland) with current projects with both experiments.
