The physics of disordered and complex systems is under intensive theoretical,
experimental and numerical studies. The intriguing interplay between disorder
and criticality in different models provides a fertile ground for exploring
new ideas and tools. There are two different ways to discuss complex systems:
stochastic partial differential equations and functional methods (I. M. Gel’fand
and A. M. Yaglom). In this talk we will discuss the following points: (i) the
physics of complex systems, (ii) mathematical models for epidemic spreading and
dynamics of biological systems, (iii) stochastic partial differential equations
with additive and multiplicative noise, (iv) continuous second order phase
transitions and Landau-Ginzburg theory , (v) disordered models with additive or
multiplicative disorder and the distributional zeta-function method
(B. F. Svaiter and N. F. Svaiter (2016)) and finally (vi) the theory of pattern
formation and non-equilibrium critical phenomena: the critical dynamics in
time-dependent Landau-Ginzburg models.
