Neutron stars are remnants of supernova explosions that occur in the final stages of stars with masses exceeding six times that of the Sun. Over the past few decades, neutron stars have emerged as natural laboratories for testing theories about matter under extreme conditions of density and pressure. In neutron star systems, the theories of all four fundamental forces converge.
In this talk, I provide a brief review of the characteristics of neutron stars and the observational methods used to study them. We then introduce a many-body formalism to determine the equation of state (EoS) of neutron stars. Finally, we discuss the potential existence of other degrees of freedom, such as hyperons and quarks, in the core of hybrid stars.
