Mini-course: Bionanomaterials for theranostic applications

SHORT COURSE PRESENTATION
The course will be focused on the application of nanomaterials in biomedicine, in particular for
drug delivery, crossing of biological barriers, and targeting. After an introduction to
nanotechnology and nanobiotechnology, examples of nanoplatforms for therapy and diagnosis
will be illustrated. Special attention will be devoted to “smart” nanoparticles, responsive to
physical stimuli, that are realistically leading to the concept of “nanorobots” for biomedicine.

– LECTURE 2 (25/09/2024 – 11:00 – 13:00): Nanoparticles for therapy
– LECTURE 3 (27/09/2024 – 11:00 – 13:00): A case study: piezoelectric nanoparticles for the treatment of brain cancer
