He received his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Catania (Italy) in 2010. From 2010 to 2013, he conducted his research at the University of Virginia (USA), as an Associate Researcher (Post-Doc) at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering . In 2013 at the Max-Planck-Institut für Astronomie (Heidelberg – Germany), as Post-Doc Fellow, he worked at the Laboratory Astrophysics and Cluster Physics Group in Jena (Germany) for the project “Processing and characterization of ices, meteorites and materials of astrophysical interest: implications for the Interstellar medium and the Solar System “. Currently, he is Assistant Professor of the Department of Physics at PUC-Rio. His main research activity focuses on experimental Surface Physics and Atomic and Molecular Physics, whose main applications are in Astrophysics and Planetary Sciences. He performs experiments aimed at simulating some of the physico-chemical processes that occur in space, such as modifications of astrophysical matters induced by ionizing radiation (ions / photons) or temperature-related processes.
